CHARACTER INFORMATION
Filling out the info sheet isn't required, but it is encouraged! It helps the mods personalize the game for characters wherever possible, in both big and small ways. We can't always be canon familiar, so think of it as a cheat sheet for us.
We also encourage players to take advantage of the malleability of the setting to highlight commonalities between characters & build CR, and the info sheets can be useful resources for that as well! Just be sure that before you reference something from a character's info sheet that you've cleared it with their player beforehand.

EXAMPLE CHARACTER NAME
MEL
NAGITO KOMAEDA
CANON: Danganronpa
CANON POINT: post-Danganronpa 3
How did your character die? AU where Nagito dies of his canonical terminal illnesses (canonically held in place by his luck)--frontotemporal dementia and lymphoma. It was the lymphoma that killed him.
Does your character's canon have its own afterlife? No
What are some of their favorite things? Nagito likes pretty things, quiet places, and books. His favorite color is green. He likes dogs, though he's reluctant to get too close to them for fear of accidentally killing them with his luck. Hope, which he mostly views as absolute good, though there are some tiny itty bitty hairline fractures in that black and white thinking he's refusing to acknowledge right now.
Who are some of their favorite people? Hajime Hinata is Nagito's absolute favorite person. He has an obsessive crush on Hinata and he is not subtle about it. Nagito is fond of the rest of Class 77-B, though nobody gets the focused attention Hinata does. He was fond of his teacher, Chisa Yukizome, who is dead. Chiaki Nanami is a special case where there are two versions of her, both dead--a human and an AI. Nagito was responsible for killing AI Nanami, and while he wasn't as directly responsible for human Nanami's death, he still holds himself at least partially responsible. There's also Nagito's parents, who have been dead since he was a child due to his luck cycle, and his childhood dog, who bears the dubious honor of being the first victim of Nagito's luck cycle. Komaeda greatly admires Makoto Naegi for being the Super High School Level Hope who defeated Junko and proved to him regular people can also create hope.
What are they proud of from their life? Nothing.
What do they dislike? Noisy places, because crowded and chaotic environments are just asking for his luck to cause something terrible to happen. Sexual harrassment--notable because Nagito will express dislike for this even when someone talented is displaying it and will even (passive aggressively, usually) try to stop it. Despair. His luck cycle. Talent (as defined in his world, a skill that when identified basically becomes your whole identity and through which you are held as above others), though he isn't aware of this himself and staunchly believes he feels the opposite.
Do they have any enemies, or anyone they particularly hate? Junko Enoshima, responsible for brainwashing him into becoming a terrorist in the name of despair. He hates her, he's terrified of her, and when he's brainwashed he loves her while simultaneously hating her. He cut off his own arm and sewed hers on. That's why he has a prosthetic now. Junko is a black hole. She's also dead twice over, human version and AI version.
What are they afraid of? Airplanes, his luck cycle, getting too close to people so they get hit by his luck, dangerous situations; Nagito is kind of eternally anxious to the point he is numb to everything and therefore calm. Beyond things like that, dying alone, not mattering to anyone, meaninglessness, being unloved, and being useless.
Do they have any regrets from their life? Nagito's obsession with hope and the way talent is defined by his world are going to be hard to let go of even if he really should loosen up on those. He regrets being brainwashed into SHSL Despair and all the killing and chaos in the name of Despair, but simultaneously he would not want to let go of that because he feels like he doesn't deserve to. He will not give up memories of Hinata. He regrets how out of control his life was and how little he feels like he mattered. He doesn't feel like he did much good.

Need
CANON: Heralds of Valdemar. There's a wiki but it's not comprehensive and most entries are a little thin.
CANON POINT: Post-Storm Breaking.
How did your character die? A very long time ago, the enclave where Sister Lashan lived was raided by a warlord who killed most of the people and carried off some young mages. Feeling that she only had the one option to save them and keep him from getting away with it, Lashan painfully sacrificed herself to bind her spirit to a sword and became Need.
More recently, magic nukes threatened to end civilization (for a second time). Need was part of the effort to stop that and it succeeded, but in the process she was superheated and rendered into a mist of molten iron, blinding one of the living participants and badly scarring another. Her spirit hung around for a few days to say goodbye to a few of the living.
Does your character's canon have its own afterlife? It does! Detail on most cases is limited - there seems to be some expectation of judgement, afterlives are specific to the worshippers of particular gods, demons may be involved, reincarnation, a soul can be damaged or even torn to little pieces by a living mage. Those who worship the Star-Eyed and are a "strong, stable mix of heroic, loving, resourceful, and wise" may transform after death, altered in ways beyond the livings' ability to entirely grasp, to become spirits who can sometimes manifest to try to help the living. Need kinda did that.
Certain people favored by the Star-Eyed Goddess, Need included, get a choice. They can rest in a sort of Heaven (that the author has compared to retiring on a beach) until they choose something else, or they can get right to the 'something else' - reincarnating with their memories as an angelic horse that will guide Chosen humans, reincarnating without memories as one of the humans who is Chosen and works tirelessly to safeguard a particular country, or reincarnate without memories as someone else. There may be other options.
One face of Death is the Shadow-Lover, a gentle, understanding figure who comforts the weary and heartbroken and leads them into the darkness to light and "home". Their appearance and apparent gender are different for different people. The Shadow-Lover presented a self-sacrificing character with a choice of getting to die and put down his burdens or remaining alive to suffer tremendously for others, and embraced and wept with him when he chose to return. Need has likely met them several times.
What are some of their favorite things? Violence, making things, doing things well, spying on people, having insight, teaching, whenever one of hers has made progress, puns about swords/her name, people being intelligently defiant at her(as in, they're thinking for themselves), exerting power, others being competent, when someone sets a boundary, being correct, light bickering, giving comfort, pragmatism, whenever someone's cynical and downtrodden but still trying to do what's right, horses, hounds, hawks, gryphons.
Who are some of their favorite people? She's had a huge number of these and the vast majority are dead. Let's see-
Her family when alive, however many friends, the other Sisters at her enclave. Vena, her final apprentice and first bearer. An unknown number of bearers and their loved ones who go unnamed (we only know of Ilsa, Melysatra, and Pol). Others who did the same thing Need did, most of whom have faded out or otherwise passed on by now. Other angels.
Kethry, her bearer a century or so before her final death, Kethry's partner Tarma who became an angel, Kethry's husband, their children. Now we're reaching the "alive" characters - Kethry's granddaughter Kerowyn, Princess Elspeth of Valdemar, Skif, Darkwind, the Star-Eyed's Avatars, Nyara, Firesong, An'desha, Karal... likely more, she's often going behind peoples' backs and spies on everyone constantly. Need likes a lot of people.
What are they proud of from their life? In life she was proud of getting old enough to retire, of her mage-smith work and the swords she made, and of her apprentice. Probably more than that, but she doesn't recall.
After that... she's 'survived' a frankly wretched existence as a haunted sword and done a lot of good work. I think most prominently, healing in this setting is tricky business and Need is the best at it. She's made slow progress in developing all her talents to a ludicrous degree. And she's proud of most of her bearers, who she sometimes regards as her "daughters".
What do they dislike? Vanity, impulsivity, inattentiveness, having to micromanage, when people think she's always right without thinking for themselves too, laziness, people who don't appreciate their animals, too much arrogance, prolonged self-pity, being treated like an object, puns about swords/her name... Honestly she's pretty easy to annoy but it rarely goes very deep. Oh, she also doesn't like the patriarchy and dislikes injustice and various forms of misogyny rather more sharply.
Do they have any enemies, or anyone they particularly hate? very yes. Need hates those who abuse and misuse others (women especially) emotionally and physically, people who get away with hideous things that are technically legal, those who can twist someone into believing in their own worthlessness, betrayers, those who love only themselves and use people who love them... It's mostly not personal and they don't even know her. She's been involved in a lot of death.
The recent major example was Ma'ar, Mage of Black Flames, who found a way to tuck his spirit into a pocket of the void and possess his descendants, going by a different name for each life and returning to that pocket upon dying, his spirit gradually decaying over the course of two thousand years of this until he was a cannibal sadist who mutilated his daughters to test body mods and... worse on them. Need chose the daughter who survived as her bearer and spent years reckoning with the damage he wrought and bringing her to see herself as worth something. They were both instrumental in killing him for good and setting his host free.
What are they afraid of? The ocean, she never learned to swim! Wells. Helplessness. Becoming passive. Becoming careless of the wills of others. Going to "sleep" at the wrong time. Parasitically living off of others (not that that's really an option with powerloss).
Do they have any regrets from their life? She doesn't remember much of her life. I have extensive headcanon about it in which she joined her people in mistreating an outcast who then summoned monsters who killed her extended family, that she had a twin who died to save her, that she spent years grim and bitter in self-imposed exile, that she was the bearer for an old and weary sword-angel called Duty, etc. Again she remembers very little of it but she had a lot of regrets there.
Something she does remember is that in life she never "had a man" - she has a line to the effect that she was horse-faced and really muscular and the few men who were attracted, she wanted nothing to do with them. It's not a big thing, more comical to her. She regrets some element of her death in that it traumatized Vena even worse.
When it comes to sword time, she has some regret for all the time she's spent "asleep", because she's a very different entity like that, and not careful of her bearers. I'm sure she's made mistakes. And she would have liked to continue for longer.
...Also it would be very hard to get her to admit it, even to herself, but she does regret binding herself to the sword. It's been a very long and grueling existence, very isolating, it's disheartening how little seems to change, and she hasn't been able to have something for herself. Need can't admit it because it's not like she can take it back, she did a lot of work no one else could or was willing to do, and she thinks she made the best choice available and would make it again.
Sakuya Shirogane le Bel
CANON: Here!
CANON POINT: Post-BBL but before the epilogue. Some elements from Holiday Star, the manga, and the drama CDs are also incorporated.
How did your character die? AU death! Sakuya was assassinated. He was suddenly pinned down in his own study and his throat was cut without any fanfare, and without ever seeing who did it. The why is that since BBL his behavior's changed notably and he's fallen from favor enough that one of le Bel's other children felt they could get away with removing him from the picture.
Does your character's canon have its own afterlife? Yes! Sometimes dreamers get there too, more temporarily. Some birds and humans, at least, wake up in a Night on the Galactic Railroad situation, a train going through the stars. Death is present as the Conductor, who's folksy and gentle and calls ghosts things like "kiddo". As they travel, ghosts forget things and eventually reincarnate. Sometimes the train stops to wait for signals and the passengers can get out to look around. The train can leave them behind, but another one always comes eventually.
In "Holiday Star" we meet a ghost who was afraid of the journey and stayed behind at one of the stops, transforming it into the titular Holiday Star, an attractive place to visit, and himself into its King. Lonely, he kept visitors from leaving by playing off their fears and traumas and, if that didn't work, with physical force, always eventually absorbing them into himself and becoming lonely again. When he was defeated, the souls he'd consumed were no worse for wear and boarded the next train with him.
What are some of their favorite things? ## What are small things that bring your character joy? Favorite colors, favorite foods, favorite hobbies, etc. ##
High-quality and expensive things! (Old money expensive I mean, not gaudy or gold-coated). The trappings of Christmas. Ninja, samurai, other "cool" Japanese things which he often has a skewed understanding of.
The big thing is music, though. Sakuya truly and deeply loves music, particularly classical music. He loves a lot of old composers and is great with the piano. In another route he tell his father he wants to pursue music, knowing he'll be disowned and have to live in an unheated cave with Hiyoko... and he's happy!
Who are some of their favorite people?
His older brother Yuuya Sakazaki. Sakuya saw him succumb to a poisoned blade and thinks he's dead, but he's fine in the epilogue and says he was "loitering around on the border between life and death" before he was given an antidote.
His mother, even if she's been somewhat checked out for his whole life. She's been having a hard time since Yuuya's death. :')
His classmate Ryouta Kawara, Ryouta's terminally ill mother. He'd object to calling these favorites but I'll mention Okosan and Anghel too.
The Human Representative Hiyoko Tousaka. She's... the doctor says whether she's alive or not is a difficult question and there isn't a definite border between life and death, that her brain is "just barely" preserved in cryo. However, she asphyxiated and was hacked to pieces, her brain put into a terrifying robot scarecrow, and the scarecrow electrocuted, and her spirit appeared to a few different characters. That's pretty dead, even if a part of her lingers.
What are they proud of from their life? ## This is whatever they themselves would value — maybe they saved the world, but they're more proud of the cool thing they invented, for example. ##
What do they dislike? ## Again, think small. Disliked foods, least favorite weather, pet peeves, etc. ##
The gaudy and gold-coated sort of expensive stuff.
Do they have any enemies, or anyone they particularly hate? Pretty much all the rest of the le Bel family.
What are they afraid of? ## This could be as minor as "spiders" or as existential as "being forgotten". Or both! ##
Being grabbed at and held down. Being eaten by predators. Having his individuality crushed.
Do they have any regrets from their life? He made a promise when he left Ryouta with Hiyoko in cryo: he was going to be there whenever medical science advanced to the point of it being safe to take Ryouta out, and he takes his promises very seriously.
Sakuya actively went into both funding and directing medical research - primarily looking for a way to de-virus Ryouta because that's way more achievable than reviving Hiyoko considering how damaged her brain is but looking into that, too. He opened avenues into legal investigation of their school. Trying to keep peace between humans and birds... well, Sakuya knew that was beyond him alone but he fed some resources to the Dove Party. He was also having Ryouta's mother cared for.
It's rough knowing he can't get back to any of that. Much of this is likely to survive him but they won't get it right, the funding will certainly decrease, etc etc.

Frieda Reiss
CANON: Frieda's page in the Attack on Titan fan wiki
CANON POINT: 1st episode (though her offscreen death is only revealed in flashbacks later on)
How did your character die? When the Walls (Frieda's walled nation) were breached and overran by man-eating titans, a man who knew that the Reiss family were the true rulers (and whose name I'm withholding here for spoiler reasons only), confronted her and begged her to use her Founding Titan's powers to save their people. Unbeknownst to him, her ancestor's vow of non-aggression and acceptance of their people's fate compelled her to decline his request, which drove him to transform into his own titan to take her powers by force. His larger titan overwhelmed hers and bit her out of its nape, killing her and letting him absorb her titan's powers.
Does your character's canon have its own afterlife? There's something of an afterlife specifically for Eldians (Frieda's race). It's called the Paths and appears as a vast expanse of desert under a night sky, with the Coordinate - a tree of light that gains a new branch for every Eldian born - as the only landmark. It is a timeless space - staying there simultaneously feels like just a second and an eternity. Characters are shown to appear there after or near death, though the Founding Titan can also use it to address and affect its still-living subjects.
What are some of their favorite things? Frieda loved her family and the people around her. She's shown to likewise be cared for by her parents and siblings as well as the peasants working the fields, whom she happily greeted on her walks to visit the farm where Historia lived with her mother. During ceremonies for the Reiss family's inner circle, she preached love and peace, wishing for a non-violent and benevolent existence for her people. She enjoyed simple pleasures such as horseback riding and being out in nature.
Who are some of their favorite people? Her family - her parents Rod and Gertrud (fandom name; her mother has no canon name) and siblings Urklyn, Dirk, Abel, Florian, and Historia (due to many translation errors for minor characters' names, these are not certified accurate - Abel and Florian are girls, but have boys' names -, however this is as good as it gets, so I'm rolling with it!). All of them except her father Rod died shortly after her, killed by the same titan that killed her. Rod would die years later at the hands of Historia after turning himself into a titan.
What are they proud of from their life? After everything that happened, she doesn't feel proud of anything. After all, she failed to safeguard the Founding Titan, and she failed the innocent people of the Walls by keeping them in the dark about the truth of the world and letting them fall prey to the titans in the end. In light of that, she can't even feel like she was a good daughter or sister - after all, who knows if her family even managed to escape the titan that killed her? (As per the above: They didn't.)
What do they dislike? Given the scope of the knowledge she inherited, there aren't many small things that bother her. She mostly resents violence and cruelty, but as a result of her vow she also came to hate disobedience and curiosity, given that she needed her people to remain in the dark about the truth. However, that latter aspect ought to fade in time.
Do they have any enemies, or anyone they particularly hate? No. Frieda doesn't even hate the man who killed her, given that he desperately begged her for help and clearly didn't want to go ahead with the violent path he was forced to tread.
What are they afraid of? Many things. People finding out what she did (or rather, what she didn't do) during her reign and/or what her ancestors did during the times of the Eldian Empire, losing herself as she did under her predecessor's vow and acting cruelly to loved ones during such episodes, being powerless (before her death, she had power at least in theory)...
Do they have any regrets from their life? So many! Declining the plea to save the people of the Walls, not having practised using the Founding Titan's powers so she could have defeated her adversary (granted, even if she had more experience, his titan had safeguards and her vow limited her), volunteering to inherit the Founding Titan in the first place... at this rate, she almost regrets being born, and only the memory of her family's love keeps that from being a full regret.

Thara Celehar
CANON: Linking to Thara's page here, because he's the main character of two of the three books in that universe.
CANON POINT: Grief of Stones, During the confrontation with the Revethavar. He survives this in canon, but for the purposes of the game it will kill him. (Grief of Stones p. 152)
How did your character die? Celehar's death is an AU! In canon, he's forced to go at knifepoint into an ancient tomb, by a woman who believes that the place holds ancient treasure. It's guarded by an undead creature (a Revethavar) that was made via human sacrifice ages in the past, and has since lost all shreds of its' human mind to hunger and cruelty. In canon it toys with him until he manages to find its' name buried in its psyche and use that to quiet it. In the AU, he won't have been able to do so before the creature finally killed him.
Does your character's canon have its own afterlife? Nope! Or at least not a definitive one as described. There's a lot of religious fragmentation so any answer would be debated greatly. The prayer used to quiet the undead is; "[name], you have been wrongly taken from your sleep. You must rest again. [name], let the darkness take you," and there's discussion of souls, so Celehar at least believes in death as something like an eternal slumber, after the soul departs the body.
What are some of their favorite things? He likes cats, and in canon feeds a group of strays. Terrible penny-dreadful novels. A particular blend of tea (orchor). Thanks to Pel-Thenhior, he's coming to appreciate opera. Learning new things.
Who are some of their favorite people? Evru Dalar: His former lover, executed after Celehar identified him as a murderer.
Anora Chanavar: A fellow Prelate of Ulis and one of Celehar's dear friends, who helps him often with the politics of the city's prelacy. He's practical and often tries to prod Celehar into standing up for himself.
Velhiro Tomasaran: A recently-awakened Witness for the Dead and a widow, she was recently appointed as Celehar's apprentice and has joined him in his work. She's often overwhelmed but has a good sense of humor and practicality.
Iäna Pel-Thenhior: The principle director of the Vermilion Opera, and Celehar's newest friend and confidant, a flamboyant and effusive goblin man. They've flirted at something more but never confirmed it.
What are they proud of from their life? Celehar would not necessarily describe it as proud, but he is satisfied and compelled by his work as a Witness for the Dead. It's important to him that he use his ability to bring peace and justice to the dead and to act as their advocates, particularly those who are unjustly murdered.
What do they dislike? Brightly colored clothing, politics and power-jockeying, idiots, reporters! Heights. Singing.
Do they have any enemies, or anyone they particularly hate?
Oseian Dalaran: Evru's former wife and abuser, whom Evru murdered.
Shulivar, Bralchenar, and Narchanezen: Three dissidents and radicals who plotted to and succeeded in killing the previous Emperor of the Elflands and most of his family by causing an airship crash. Celehar's investigation brought them to be captured. They've gone to trial, and have probably been executed, though canon isn't clear on their fates.
Eshevis Tethimar: A nobleman who worked with the three dissidents, though didn't mean for the Emperor's assassination to happen because of it. He tried to assassinate the new Emperor when Celehar sent in the results of his investigation, and was killed by the Emperor's bodyguards.
A man with a few different aliases; a serial killer who would marry his victims and poison them to death. Celehar uncovered the evidence of his murder, that led to the man's execution.
Pavalo Temin: A former noblewoman, she ran a school for foundling girls who she was exploiting. During Celehar's investigation into her school, she took him captive and was the one to bring him into the ancient tomb to hunt for treasure. She was killed by the Revethavar.
The Revethavar! It didn't die by his hand, but it is an undead thing, and has a terrible fascination with him as a Witness for the Dead.
What are they afraid of? Losing his ability to speak with the dead. He's also afraid of a lot of different kinds of death that he's experienced secondhand over the years. Becoming dependent on the mercy of his cousin (again). Ghosts and ghouls. He's afraid of seeking romantic intimacy, though he also longs for it.
Do they have any regrets from their life? His biggest regret is identifying Evru as his wife's killer, a decision that killed the man he loved. Related to that, that he could not bring any officials to intervene on Evru's behalf before the man was driven to a desperate act of murder to save himself from his circumstances.
Second to that, his attempt to give up his Calling as a Witness for the Dead, something he called a living death to go through.
NEON
CMDR ALLYNBEE SHEPARD
Nicknames: Lyn, Shep
CANON: Shepard's wiki link, she is specifically a mostly-Paragon Spacer/Soul Survivor.
CANON POINT: Post Mass Effect 3, Synthesis ending.
How did your character die? Quite literally, she jumped into a beam of light that disintegrated her body to disseminate her biological and technological material creatures across her universe.
Does your character's canon have its own afterlife? Lyn doesn't know. Several people across her lifetime...s have been very religious. She won't admit it, but she hopes that if any of them are real, it would be The Sea that Thane Krios would speak of.
What are some of their favorite things? Lyn loves a lot, though rarely has the opportunity indulge in them. They include: music, cooking, reading. She also collected models of human naval ships from her time. Her favorite color is gold and she likes hamsters and similar rodents that are commonly pets.
Who are some of their favorite people?
Wrex - Leader of the Krogan and a former mercenary Lyn holds in high esteem
Jack - a former criminal, now teacher
Tali - technology expert and Admiral
Garrus - former security, vigilante and military leader
Joker - Best damn pilot in the Alliance Navy.
Grunt - created Krogan mercenary leader that Lyn affectionately jokes is her son.
Vega - devoted soldier and N7 candidate that may have been...something with Lyn. Too bad about the war. And the military regulations.
Kaidan - an impressive soldier. Lyn's mostly amicable ex.
There are also those that she has lost:
Ash - fellow military brat. Shared love of poetry. Died on Virmire, after Lyn elected to save Kaidan.
Mordin - a genius scientist who sacrificed himself to correct a horrifying mistake he once made. Had to be him, someone else would have gotten it wrong. Lost on Tuchanka.
Thane - a complicated, masterful assassin. Lyn's lover. Died helping to stop a coup. Lost on the Citadel.
Anderson - An amazing mentor and excellent soldier. Lost on the Citadel.
What are they proud of from their life? She's exceedingly proud of most of her military record, particularly her help in curing the genetic weapon used on the Krogan and fighting a reaper ON FOOT and winning. She also holds the moment Captain Anderson told her that he was proud of her in high esteem. (I'm sure this won't be relevant later.)
What do they dislike? She hates being cold, and doubly hates snow. She also hates feeling embarrassed and will not react well to anyone who makes her feel that way. She also hates olives and food that is too mushy.
Do they have any enemies, or anyone they particularly hate? Kaidan is complicated, she cares about him and respects him as a soldier but Horizon left an extremely poor taste in her mouth and she doesn't trust him the same way.
Kai Leng and The Illusive Man are two of the worst that humanity has had to offer the universe and Lyn is not sorry that she had to neutralize either of them.
Saren is someone she pitied, even as she fought him at every step of his plan to assist the Reapers.
What are they afraid of? She's afraid of failing and disappointing people. More concretely, suffocating or air deprivation is now actively terrifying - even though it is something that she has experienced in training.
Do they have any regrets from their life? Lyn believes she failed Ashley, the Reaper attack on Earth haunts her, and she generally has mixed feelings about having been so effective during her time with Cerberus.

CANON: OMORI *Contains Spoilers!*
CANON POINT: Post-A Certain Late Game Fight, pre-Memory Lane (and another Late Game Fight has not happened) - this is vague, but for the sake of not casual spoilering people, that’s why. If you want actual details, feel free to DM ^^
How did your character die? Garden Shears to the eye ^^; not pleasant at all
Does your character's canon have its own afterlife? This… is a very good question. While it’s not actually stated in the game, OMORI itself takes place in a fictional small town, circa 1990s-2000s? And they have a church there so… potentially conservative town? I think it really boils down to the whole debate of ‘do you believe in Heaven or Hell?’ and the like.
What are some of their favorite things? Sunny enjoys little comforts - empty boxes, video games, the small moments with friends that he cherished (before his memory got, err, weird). He used to play Pet Rocks and generally enjoys feeding stray cats fish.
Who are some of their favorite people? I would say “his friends back home” (so Kel, Aubrey, Basil, Hero) and his sister Mari, but relationships are… somewhat rocky. In his canon point, he’s been working through somewhat repairing some of them. As of this writing, both Kel and Mari are dead and present in the Crossing ^^ It can be inferred that he had somewhat of a fondness for Mari’s kitten, Mewo, as she does appear in White Space.
What are they proud of from their life? …I’m not sure Sunny has anything to be proud of. He has more regrets and self-loathing than anything (which we will cover below!)
What do they dislike? Cherry soda, tofu, rabbits(?), the violin (which he used to play but has a complex relationship with now for Past Trauma reasons)
Do they have any enemies, or anyone they particularly hate? I’m not sure ‘hate’ is the right word, but Sunny has a particularly strange relationship when it comes to Basil and Mari (because of Past Trauma). He loved his sister but because of his in-the-moment mistakes, he can’t quite forgive himself when it comes to her. And Basil… is a whole other basket of worms. Once a close friend and someone he would spend hours listening to, a lot of Sunny’s past trauma is now triggered while being around Basil (even in his dreams; a large portion of his dream world quest is to find Basil, which leads Sunny to uncover his forgotten ‘Truth’).
Omori (Sunny’s idealized version of himself in Headspace and his knee-jerk trauma protection response) is also a complicated relationship. They don’t really interact in-game (except for one really late game scene), as Sunny is Omori while dreaming, but Sunny does ultimately have to overcome Omori (a manifestation of all of his guilt and fear) in order to move on. Which… hasn’t happened, because of where I yoinked him in canon. Oops.
What are they afraid of? ## Ahahaha, I love how both of the examples are Sunny’s fears too XD And I would say it might be more apt to ask ‘what isn’t Sunny afraid of?’ But… there is a concrete list: heights, spiders, drowning, and being alone are the major ones (fears he literally has to overcome over the course of the game). His greatest fear is that his friends will leave or hate him if they learn the full events surrounding his sister’s death (even Sunny himself was so traumatized that he forced himself to forget).
Do they have any regrets from their life? Oh boy. Once again, probably a longer list: spending the last four years of his life refusing to leave the house and creating a dreamscape (Headspace) in which he lived fictional adventures with overly characterized versions of his childhood friends (is he regretting this? Maybe, maybe not. It certainly is complicated, as it’s a trauma/stress response); being the main catalyst for his sister’s death; deciding to play the violin; Things he doesn’t remember doing but did anyway (like scratching out pictures of his sister that Basil kept).
If any of this needs expanded upon, please let me know. Trying to give details and be vague-ish since this information is major OMORI spoilers ^^
Hanako
CANON: Toilet Bound Hanako-kun
CANON POINT: Volume 3, Chapter 64, if we are being specific (this is post-Season 2, for those who watched the anime ^^)
How did your character die?
Going to just plot this under a spoiler cut~
Technically AUing a death point from the manga. While exploring No.6’s boundary in search of Yashiro’s friend, he (and Yashiro) falls into what is described as the Boundary’s “waste bin” - a space that links to the Far Shore (and the living who make it this far usually die at that point). Since Hanako was already dead, it wouldn’t be a problem and the manga would continue on as usual… expect instead he ends up in the Crossing! He really doesn’t remember said tunnel of bugs and death though, so he can’t tell you exactly *how* he died. Whoops~
Does your character's canon have its own afterlife? Yes! It’s often referred to as the “Far Shore” (with the world of the living being the “Near Shore” in comparison). That being said, we don’t really get much on what this actually looks like, because most of the series deals with the fact that ghosts who are in-between (like Hanako) are haunting the world of the living. The closest we get to ‘seeing’ the Far Shore is being on a ‘bus bound for it,’ but they never actually make it there.
What are some of their favorite things? DONUTS!!! Astronomy, star gazing, anything involving outer space! He really enjoys teasing people (that might come from him being a ghost for several decades, though as he’s much more quiet and mild-mannered when he was alive).
Who are some of their favorite people? Getting Hanako to actually admit that he has people in the ‘favorite’ category would be a fairly difficult thing… good thing I’m writing this!
Yashiro! - she’s dead in the Crossing too (he’s really conflicted by it). He likes her. Really likes her, though he can’t quite seem to admit or realize it fully. Despite all that he teases her, Hanako really does care for Yashiro’s well-being, wanting her to have a fun and fulfilling life.
Especially because SPOILERS
he knew, from the moment she summoned him, that her life span was already running out.
SPOILERS
trapping her in a picture perfect world so she would live longer, attempting to sacrifice her best friend, and allowing the world of the living and the dead to be separated for good - though that ends up not being permanent
What are they proud of from their life? He really doesn’t have much he would consider to be ‘proud of’ from when he was living (as Amane), so… the closest, I think, he could feel accomplished with is his work as the Leader of the Seven Wonders. He doesn’t seem to take it seriously sometimes, but it is something he references quite a bit.
What do they dislike? ## Kanji Drills - seriously, they are the worst. Hopefully that won’t be a problem here! More seriously, people who warp the dead for their own twisted means.
Do they have any enemies, or anyone they particularly hate? Hate really is a strong word, but people who twist supernaturals with rumors would certainly be considered an enemy. It changes the very core of who an apparition is, without their consent, so… he’s going around trying to solve that.
Also, just going to put Tsukasa
(and putting that under a spoiler extension because… SPOILERS, and head canon thoughts because not all has been revealed. CW: murder, suicide, physical and emotional abuse)
Tsukasa is Hanako’s little twin brother… also dead, though not in the Crossing (as of when I wrote this) and… Hanako is the one who killed him. Why? We aren’t given a concrete “here is the answer” though there is some speculation. Amane (Hanako) was sick when he was very young, and Tsukasa pretty much sacrificed himself to a dark being(?) in order to make his brother better, goes missing for a year and a half, and mysteriously shows back up with the dark being still with him. Tsukasa has been shown to always be a bit extreme in his reactions, very child-like (including his propensity for violence), but it’s implied by their mother that Tsukasa is something entirely other after he shows back up.
Tsukasa’s own death ties into Hanako’s as well: the only confirmation from the authors is that Hanako’s family of four (including him, his brother, and parents) were killed in a murder-suicide, which pretty much became a urban local legend. (Headcanon as of right now? Amane came home to the fact that Tsukasa killed their parents, either because of whatever being inhabits him takes him over or he’s just so used to sacrificing that… it’s normal now? -, Amane accidentally kills Tsukasa with a kitchen knife, and then commits suicide.
There is also the known fact that Amane would come to school with bruises and injuries every day, but refused to say who and why, even to his home room teacher.
Fast forward several decades to the time of the canon… every time Hanako sees Tsukasa, he is either on guard or extremely distressed. (See the latter half of Season 1 Episode 7 for when Tsukasa is introduced). Whether he is afraid of his brother or the fact that Hanako is constantly being confronted with the fact that he killed his brother is up for debate too.
What are they afraid of? Tsukasa. Fearing losing Yashiro (he wants her to stay as much ‘herself’ as possible, even in the Crossing), whether physically or if she would decide she didn’t want to be around him anymore (he is frightened of her finding out ‘the truth’ about him, re: all of the above about Tsukasa).
Do they have any regrets from their life? As Hanako, he does regret being unable to finish his work as the Seventh Wonder and, since Yashiro is also dead in the Crossing, he regrets being unable to keep her alive. Also, for the third time, Tsukasa. His feelings are such a mixed bag, and Hanako is someone that rarely says or shows what he is actually thinking.

Makoto Naegi
CANON: Danganronpa
CANON POINT: AU of Danganronpa 3
How did your character die? In this AU, Makoto's trial is not interrupted by Tengan's killing game, and he is found guilty of treason. He is then executed shortly after by Kyosuke Munakata, who stabs him in the heart with his katana just as Hajime Hinata and the others come to rescue him. He dies of blood loss shortly after.
Does your character's canon have its own afterlife? I don't know. The closest thing we got is the afterlife theater.
What are some of their favorite things? Curry and trendy things. Makoto describes himself as ordinary in every way, especially in his interests.
Who are some of their favorite people? His family (Little sister Komaru and his parents (that he doesn't remember here), his classmates (Both dead and alive (especially Sayaka Maizono (dead), Kyoko Kirigiri, Aoi Asahina and Byakuya Togami (He's an ass but Makoto trusts him with his life) and Alter Ego (an AI his dead classmate Chihiro Fujisaki made).
What are they proud of from their life? This is a hard question since he doesn't tend to take credit for his accomplishments, instead believing them to be a team effort. Maybe his bonds?
What do they dislike? Dried mackerel, dried bean curd and violence.
Do they have any enemies, or anyone they particularly hate? Despite his history with questionable people and their choices, the only person Makoto hates is Junko Enoshima, the mastermind of the killing game. One of Makoto's classmates, his hate for her comes from her tyranny as Monokuma (her persona in the Killing game), her betrayal as someone he once cared for and the cause of the Tragedy. Even then, he didn't want her to die. Mixed with his recovered memories of his past at Hope's Peak Academy, his feelings for her are quite complicated but mostly negative.
What are they afraid of? Monokuma and his loved ones' deaths.
Do they have any regrets from their life? He tends to blame himself for not stopping the killing game sooner, blaming himself for his classmates deaths. He also secretly regrets not being able to stop Junko from enacting the tragedy.

Daniil Dankovsky
CANON: Pathologic 2 | wiki link
CANON POINT: Day 11
How did your character die?
AU for his death, spoilers abound
Instead of murdering the courier for his papers, Dankovsky is instead shot in the chest and subsequently dies from his wounds. The papers are then successfully delivered to Artemy Burakh after the courier seeks him out to tell Artemy about the fatal shooting. In canon, Daniil shoots the courier dead instead. This AU is basically "what if the courier was also packing."
Does your character's canon have its own afterlife? Oh god okay so like. Pathologic series has levels of meta narrative. One of this is fourthwalling to where, in the first game, Danill can become distinctly aware that he is a character in a video game. This also carries over to the second game where you play as Daniil's associate Artemy who is told, distinctively, not to die, and who has harsh repercussions for dying. Canonically, one of these is that if he dies, Artemy is not allowed to hug anyone. People have written fanfiction about how this man cannot hug his children. I know. I know.
Lore wise, death is death and people die and it's treated as a normal thing. Meta wise Daniil is a video game character and he is not allowed to quit until the narrative is done with him.
What are some of their favorite things? Daniil is that capital dandy who dresses in fashionable clothes. Mostly in black with a touch of red so I always assumed those are his favorite colors, kind of his signature. He loves being right about everything. He used to collect Beetles as a kid and I think he likes insects in general and thinks they're neat. In general he loves medicine and intellectual pursuits, he loves reading. This is more of a headcanon but I just think he really likes jam.
Who are some of their favorite people? Dankovsky really isn't one to be attached to or have attachment to many people. With that said, there is a short list. There's Eva Yan, a woman who took him in during the Plague, gave him a place to sleep and live, and showed him kindness. Artemy Burakh is a man whom Daniil has a very complicated relationship with but despite their arguing he also openly gets along with him and many characters comment on how fond Daniil is of Artemy. I also say that he likes Clara and gets along with her even if he doesn't respect her nearly as much as he does Artemy.
And of course, his Parents. Canonically they aren't mentioned much, his Mother not at all and his Father only in passing but I have my headcanons about them. Dankovsky canonically at one point had interest in joining the military and I attribute this interest, in headcanon, saying that Dankovsky's dad was the military man. I headcanon his mom as having passed in his teenage years and having that have taken a massive blow on Dankovsky and having altered the course of his life to focus on medicine instead.
What are they proud of from their life? Dankovsky is most proud of his Bachelors degree, which is a big deal in his soviet russian Capital equivalent where he's from, since a Doctorate would have been out of the question and most people practicing medicine would have had a Bachelors degree like he does. Also, despite the fact that it's now burnt down, he's very proud of the Thanatica still.
What do they dislike? I will come back to this one this one's harder because I feel like everything kind of annoys him... I feel like just in general he's the type of person that if he's not in control of a situation or if it's not being done his way he's kind of in a pissy mood about it. Let me think more on this one tho, I'll come back and edit.
Do they have any enemies, or anyone they particularly hate? I feel like Daniil's default reaction to most people is to dislike or hate them. Telman is absolutely up there as the man who's responsible for the burning of his beloved Thanatica. He both hates and fears Aglaya Lilich, the Inquisitor that comes to the town to deal with the sand plague. This isn't as obvious in Pathologic 2 but in the first game she lies and manipulates him and he hates this.
What are they afraid of? Death. finger guns while walking away.
Also losing everything they've ever accomplished and becoming irrelevant but that's kind of already happened before he died? Oops!
Do they have any regrets from their life? Dankovsky wanted so badly to defeat the plague before his death and he so obviously was in over his head and was not able to do so at all. He wanted to save the Thanatica and that's gone, burnt to a crisp. He wanted to save the Polyhedron but doesn't even know if it was saved at all, and now can't even remember the Polyhedron. And most importantly, I think, is that on his journey of trying to fight death, he forgot how much he values and cares for life.

Soo Won (cw: akatsuki no yona spoilers)
CANON: Akatsuki no Yona (wiki link)
CANON POINT: Chapter 249, with a slight AU for his death
How did your character die? Soo Won had accepted that as a consequence of killing King Il, Yona's father, Yona or Hak might kill him someday. However both Yona and Hak both chose to support him instead, leaving him feeling unsettled. In a daze from the feverish pain of the crimson illness, Soo Won faced the wrathful eyes of the blue dragon, Shin Ah, and offered himself to him as punishment. In the manga Shin Ah bites his shoulder but leaves him alive. For this AU I'm saying that the attack killed him instead.
Does your character's canon have its own afterlife? There are hints that there is an afterlife in Akatsuki no Yona since the crimson dragon king's soul reincarnated as Yona, but we don't know what that afterlife might look like.
What are some of their favorite things? Soo Won loves meeting new people, experiencing new things, his falcon Gulfan who he raised with Hak, and his favorite time of day is dawn. He also likes sparring but he hasn't found anyone he shares that connection with since Hak.
Who are some of their favorite people? Hak and Yona are his most precious people. Soo Won can be very cold and sacrifice others when he has to in order to protect Kouka Kingdom, however Hak and Yona are two people who he could never discard, no matter how hard he tried. He has a soft spot for Lili, the daughter of the General of the Water Tribe, because she reminds him of connection he used to share with Hak and Yona before he betrayed them. He also loved his mother, who passed away from the same crimson illness that plagues him.
What are they proud of from their life? Soo Won doesn't tend to put much importance on his part in his accomplishments in rebuilding Kouka Kingdom. He sees it as doing what must be done for the sake of his people, not for personal glory. He's more likely to be proud of what others have done with his guidance rather than anything he has done himself. The one exception is his friendly rivalry with Hak who has been his goal every since they were kids. He was very proud of his ability to match Hak in combat, before he was weakened by the crimson illness.
What do they dislike? Soo won doesn't like it when people take advantage of others' kindness, medicines that make him tired since he needs to be able to have a clear head at all times, and he doesn't like when people underestimate him because of his young age. He will happily use it to his advantage though and he plays the carefree fool a lot. His genuine curiosity makes his act more believable.
Do they have any enemies, or anyone they particularly hate? As the king of kouka kingdom Soo Won has many enemies. Most of them are either dead or subjugated by the time he's dead.
The only person he's shown to truly hate is the Crimson Dragon King. He's their descendant and his bloodline has been cursed with the crimson illness for generations. It's divine in nature so there is no cure. Those with the Crimson Dragon King's blood have tried to find meaning in their suffering by believing they were special and needed to protect their precious blood. Yet the Crimson Dragon King was reincarnated as Yona, someone outside of the family. This fact tormented Soo Won's mother and Soo Won watched his mother succumb to despair and madness. Soo Won doesn't share the same fanatic belief that his blood is special and he wants nothing from the heavens. He pretends he's not affected by the curse of his blood but he tends to get quieter when the Crimson Dragon King is mentioned and his outburst when Yona mentions how his mother suffered with the crimson illness shows that he's not as unbothered by it as he likes to pretend.
What are they afraid of? Failing to protect Kouka kingdom before his dies. He was slowly dying from the crimson illness, but instead of resting to prolong his life, he continued to push himself in order to finish everything he needed to accomplish to make Kouka a strong kingdom that can protect itself after his death.
Do they have any regrets from their life? Soo Won does not regret killing King Il. He cared for his kind uncle but it was necessary to save Kouka, which was falling apart under King Il's kind rule. What he does regret however was that he lost Hak and Yona as a result. Even when they chose to support him regardless of what he did, there is too much pain between them to ever go back to how they used to be.

PAPYRUS
CHARACTER NAME(S): "THE GREAT PAPYRUS," Papyrus, "Bro"
CANON: Undertale
CANON POINT: Post-genocide, "true" pacifist ending!
How did your character die?
AU version of an implied canonical death: killed by the human main character some time after the happiest ending (in which the monsters were all freed to live on the surface, and Papyrus was working as ambassador of monsterkind to humankind)
Which is to say: post-geno pacifist run, the human didn't move in with Toriel or take the ambassador position, so Papyrus jumped at the opportunity to be important and helpful. It had been about 12 weeks since they all went free - long enough for him to have met a variety of other humans, experienced a variety of reactions to him, and get some guidance on how to do the new job, but still a short enough time that there's plenty he didn't know.
At some point the main characters got together for a group portrait celebrating their freedom: the picture seen in this ending, with all the monsters' faces later scribbled over in red. I haven't specified any details about where or why the human killed him, only that he wasn't with anyone else and he thinks/hopes he might have been the only one killed.
As far as an afterlife goes: it came as a big surprise to him. Monster souls are known to break apart upon death, with only a rare few lingering so much as seconds after their demise - their souls have very little of a certain will to live (determination) that humans have in spades. There are signs that their memories do somewhat literally linger on in the dust their bodies dissolve into, given the results of a flower grown from a seed covered in dust and injected with the 'determination' drawn from a human soul... but it's not at all well known. Papyrus might have known of that, given his off-screen but extended friendship with the flower in question, but that would have been more of an undead resurrection situation. He had no particular reason to expect an actual afterlife.
What are some of their favorite things? Dinosaur egg oatmeal, making spaghetti (and/or messes or fires) with a friend, using figurines for imagined battles, showing off cool magical tricks in realish battles, the color red
Who are some of their favorite people? Sans (his annoying brother), Undyne (theoretically his trainer for the royal guard, mostly just friend who's loud and over-the-top in ways compatible with his loudness), Alphys (online friend he worries about). They were all alive when he last saw them, but... nah, they're all dead too.
What are they proud of from their life? ## This is whatever they themselves would value — maybe they saved the world, but they're more proud of the cool thing they invented, for example. ##
What do they dislike? Greasy foods, messes generally, dogs stealing his bones (magical constructs), creepy whispers that remind him of things he doesn't want to think about, self doubt, self hatred, and other forms of people feeling negatively about themselves
Do they have any enemies, or anyone they particularly hate? ???
What are they afraid of?
- Being forgotten!! this self-proclaimed "The Great Papyrus" is one for openly seeking recognition, fame, and popularity. Fun fact, the flavor text for him in a certain version of his fight is "forgettable." Fear of being forgotten can explain some of his motivations in fun ways. >:)
- Echo flowers, a type of glowing blue flower in the underground that retains the last words made near them and echoes the sound until a new one is made. Papyrus finds them unsettling for reasons he doesn't disclose, and ends phone calls quickly if the human's in areas full of them. I have some headcanons there.
Do they have any regrets from their life? He had so much left to live for! After an undefined amount of time trapped underground with other people who were likewise working to find the bright side of a bad situation and generally forcing themselves to smile, they had all finally been freed! The world was their oyster! There were many beautiful things to see, highways to drive a hot red convertible on, beaches to get wet and sandy at, friends to make... But really, nothing incomplete.
