Frieda Reiss

CHARACTER NAME(S): Frieda Reiss
CANON: Frieda's page in the Attack on Titan fan wiki
CANON POINT: 1st episode (though her offscreen death is only revealed in flashbacks later on)

How did your character die? When the Walls (Frieda's walled nation) were breached and overran by man-eating titans, a man who knew that the Reiss family were the true rulers (and whose name I'm withholding here for spoiler reasons only), confronted her and begged her to use her Founding Titan's powers to save their people. Unbeknownst to him, her ancestor's vow of non-aggression and acceptance of their people's fate compelled her to decline his request, which drove him to transform into his own titan to take her powers by force. His larger titan overwhelmed hers and bit her out of its nape, killing her and letting him absorb her titan's powers.
Does your character's canon have its own afterlife? There's something of an afterlife specifically for Eldians (Frieda's race). It's called the Paths and appears as a vast expanse of desert under a night sky, with the Coordinate - a tree of light that gains a new branch for every Eldian born - as the only landmark. It is a timeless space - staying there simultaneously feels like just a second and an eternity. Characters are shown to appear there after or near death, though the Founding Titan can also use it to address and affect its still-living subjects.

What are some of their favorite things? Frieda loved her family and the people around her. She's shown to likewise be cared for by her parents and siblings as well as the peasants working the fields, whom she happily greeted on her walks to visit the farm where Historia lived with her mother. During ceremonies for the Reiss family's inner circle, she preached love and peace, wishing for a non-violent and benevolent existence for her people. She enjoyed simple pleasures such as horseback riding and being out in nature.
Who are some of their favorite people? Her family - her parents Rod and Gertrud (fandom name; her mother has no canon name) and siblings Urklyn, Dirk, Abel, Florian, and Historia (due to many translation errors for minor characters' names, these are not certified accurate - Abel and Florian are girls, but have boys' names -, however this is as good as it gets, so I'm rolling with it!). All of them except her father Rod died shortly after her, killed by the same titan that killed her. Rod would die years later at the hands of Historia after turning himself into a titan.
What are they proud of from their life? After everything that happened, she doesn't feel proud of anything. After all, she failed to safeguard the Founding Titan, and she failed the innocent people of the Walls by keeping them in the dark about the truth of the world and letting them fall prey to the titans in the end. In light of that, she can't even feel like she was a good daughter or sister - after all, who knows if her family even managed to escape the titan that killed her? (As per the above: They didn't.)

What do they dislike? Given the scope of the knowledge she inherited, there aren't many small things that bother her. She mostly resents violence and cruelty, but as a result of her vow she also came to hate disobedience and curiosity, given that she needed her people to remain in the dark about the truth. However, that latter aspect ought to fade in time.
Do they have any enemies, or anyone they particularly hate? No. Frieda doesn't even hate the man who killed her, given that he desperately begged her for help and clearly didn't want to go ahead with the violent path he was forced to tread.
What are they afraid of? Many things. People finding out what she did (or rather, what she didn't do) during her reign and/or what her ancestors did during the times of the Eldian Empire, losing herself as she did under her predecessor's vow and acting cruelly to loved ones during such episodes, being powerless (before her death, she had power at least in theory)...
Do they have any regrets from their life? So many! Declining the plea to save the people of the Walls, not having practised using the Founding Titan's powers so she could have defeated her adversary (granted, even if she had more experience, his titan had safeguards and her vow limited her), volunteering to inherit the Founding Titan in the first place... at this rate, she almost regrets being born, and only the memory of her family's love keeps that from being a full regret.
