CHARACTER NAME(S): "THE GREAT PAPYRUS," Papyrus, "Bro" CANON: Undertale CANON POINT: Post-genocide, "true" pacifist ending!
How did your character die?AU version of an implied canonical death: killed by the human main character some time after the happiest ending (in which the monsters were all freed to live on the surface, and Papyrus was working as ambassador of monsterkind to humankind) Which is to say: post-geno pacifist run, the human didn't move in with Toriel or take the ambassador position, so Papyrus jumped at the opportunity to be important and helpful. It had been about 12 weeks since they all went free - long enough for him to have met a variety of other humans, experienced a variety of reactions to him, and get some guidance on how to do the new job, but still a short enough time that there's plenty he didn't know.
As far as an afterlife goes: it came as a big surprise to him. Monster souls are known to break apart upon death, with only a rare few lingering so much as seconds after their demise - their souls have very little of a certain will to live (determination) that humans have in spades. There are signs that their memories do somewhat literally linger on in the dust their bodies dissolve into, given the results of a flower grown from a seed covered in dust and injected with the 'determination' drawn from a human soul... but it's not at all well known. Papyrus might have known of that, given his off-screen but extended friendship with the flower in question, but that would have been more of an undead resurrection situation. He had no particular reason to expect an actual afterlife.
What are some of their favorite things? Dinosaur egg oatmeal, making spaghetti (and/or messes or fires) with a friend, using figurines for imagined battles, showing off cool magical tricks in realish battles, the color red
Who are some of their favorite people? Sans (his annoying brother), Undyne (theoretically his trainer for the royal guard, mostly just friend who's loud and over-the-top in ways compatible with his loudness), Alphys (online friend he worries about). They were all alive when he last saw them, but... nah, they're all dead too.
What are they proud of from their life? ## This is whatever they themselves would value — maybe they saved the world, but they're more proud of the cool thing they invented, for example. ##
What do they dislike? Greasy foods, messes generally, dogs stealing his bones (magical constructs), creepy whispers that remind him of things he doesn't want to think about, self doubt, self hatred, and other forms of people feeling negatively about themselves
Do they have any enemies, or anyone they particularly hate? ???
What are they afraid of? - Being forgotten!! this self-proclaimed "The Great Papyrus" is one for openly seeking recognition, fame, and popularity. Fun fact, the flavor text for him in a certain version of his fight is "forgettable." Fear of being forgotten can explain some of his motivations in fun ways. >:) - Echo flowers, a type of glowing blue flower in the underground that retains the last words made near them and echoes the sound until a new one is made. Papyrus finds them unsettling for reasons he doesn't disclose, and ends phone calls quickly if the human's in areas full of them. I have some headcanons there.
Do they have any regrets from their life? He had so much left to live for! After an undefined amount of time trapped underground with other people who were likewise working to find the bright side of a bad situation and generally forcing themselves to smile, they had all finally been freed! The world was their oyster! There were many beautiful things to see, highways to drive a hot red convertible on, beaches to get wet and sandy at, friends to make... But really, nothing incomplete.

At some point the main characters got together for a group portrait celebrating their freedom: the picture seen in this ending, with all the monsters' faces later scribbled over in red. I haven't specified any details about where or why the human killed him, only that he wasn't with anyone else and he thinks/hopes he might have been the only one killed.
