CHARACTER INFORMATION

CHARACTER INFO SHEETS

Filling out the info sheet isn't required, but it is encouraged! It helps the mods personalize the game for characters wherever possible, in both big and small ways. We can't always be canon familiar, so think of it as a cheat sheet for us.

We also encourage players to take advantage of the malleability of the setting to highlight commonalities between characters & build CR, and the info sheets can be useful resources for that as well! Just be sure that before you reference something from a character's info sheet that you've cleared it with their player beforehand.

CHARACTER NAME(S): ## Include aliases, important nicknames, or real names (if your character goes by something else.) ##
CANON: ## Include a wiki link, if one exists! ##
CANON POINT: ## For reference! ##

How did your character die? ## Include as much or as little detail as you like. Include links if you think that will help! If you've AU'd your character at all, let us know. ##
Does your character's canon have its own afterlife? ## Links are great, or just give us a quick rundown of what this afterlife looks like. ##

What are some of their favorite things? ## What are small things that bring your character joy? Favorite colors, favorite foods, favorite hobbies, etc. ##
Who are some of their favorite people? ## Note for us if any of them are also dead. ##
What are they most proud of from their life? ## This is whatever they themselves would value — maybe they saved the world, but they're more proud of the cool thing they invented, for example. ##

What do they dislike? ## Again, think small. Disliked foods, least favorite weather, pet peeves, etc. ##
Do they have any enemies, or anyone they particularly hate? ## Again, let us know if any of these people are also dead. ##
What are they afraid of? ## This could be as minor as "spiders" or as existential as "being forgotten". Or both! ##
Do they have any regrets from their life? ## Anything left unfinished, or that's hard to let go of? ##

toilet_bound: (Happy 2)

Hanako

[personal profile] toilet_bound 2025-03-09 12:35 am (UTC)(link)
CHARACTER NAME(S): Hanako; formerly known as Amane Yugi (given name, family name)
CANON: Toilet Bound Hanako-kun
CANON POINT: Volume 3, Chapter 64, if we are being specific (this is post-Season 2, for those who watched the anime ^^)

How did your character die?

Going to just plot this under a spoiler cut~
Technically AUing a death point from the manga. While exploring No.6’s boundary in search of Yashiro’s friend, he (and Yashiro) falls into what is described as the Boundary’s “waste bin” - a space that links to the Far Shore (and the living who make it this far usually die at that point). Since Hanako was already dead, it wouldn’t be a problem and the manga would continue on as usual… expect instead he ends up in the Crossing! He really doesn’t remember said tunnel of bugs and death though, so he can’t tell you exactly *how* he died. Whoops~

Does your character's canon have its own afterlife? Yes! It’s often referred to as the “Far Shore” (with the world of the living being the “Near Shore” in comparison). That being said, we don’t really get much on what this actually looks like, because most of the series deals with the fact that ghosts who are in-between (like Hanako) are haunting the world of the living. The closest we get to ‘seeing’ the Far Shore is being on a ‘bus bound for it,’ but they never actually make it there.

What are some of their favorite things? DONUTS!!! Astronomy, star gazing, anything involving outer space! He really enjoys teasing people (that might come from him being a ghost for several decades, though as he’s much more quiet and mild-mannered when he was alive).
Who are some of their favorite people? Getting Hanako to actually admit that he has people in the ‘favorite’ category would be a fairly difficult thing… good thing I’m writing this!

Yashiro! - she’s dead in the Crossing too (he’s really conflicted by it). He likes her. Really likes her, though he can’t quite seem to admit or realize it fully. Despite all that he teases her, Hanako really does care for Yashiro’s well-being, wanting her to have a fun and fulfilling life.

Especially because SPOILERS
he knew, from the moment she summoned him, that her life span was already running out.
He isn’t above withholding information or taking actions that Yashiro would disagree with in order to secure her happiness, including

SPOILERS
trapping her in a picture perfect world so she would live longer, attempting to sacrifice her best friend, and allowing the world of the living and the dead to be separated for good - though that ends up not being permanent

What are they proud of from their life? He really doesn’t have much he would consider to be ‘proud of’ from when he was living (as Amane), so… the closest, I think, he could feel accomplished with is his work as the Leader of the Seven Wonders. He doesn’t seem to take it seriously sometimes, but it is something he references quite a bit.

What do they dislike? ## Kanji Drills - seriously, they are the worst. Hopefully that won’t be a problem here! More seriously, people who warp the dead for their own twisted means.

Do they have any enemies, or anyone they particularly hate? Hate really is a strong word, but people who twist supernaturals with rumors would certainly be considered an enemy. It changes the very core of who an apparition is, without their consent, so… he’s going around trying to solve that.

Also, just going to put Tsukasa

(and putting that under a spoiler extension because… SPOILERS, and head canon thoughts because not all has been revealed. CW: murder, suicide, physical and emotional abuse)
Tsukasa is Hanako’s little twin brother… also dead, though not in the Crossing (as of when I wrote this) and… Hanako is the one who killed him. Why? We aren’t given a concrete “here is the answer” though there is some speculation. Amane (Hanako) was sick when he was very young, and Tsukasa pretty much sacrificed himself to a dark being(?) in order to make his brother better, goes missing for a year and a half, and mysteriously shows back up with the dark being still with him. Tsukasa has been shown to always be a bit extreme in his reactions, very child-like (including his propensity for violence), but it’s implied by their mother that Tsukasa is something entirely other after he shows back up.

Tsukasa’s own death ties into Hanako’s as well: the only confirmation from the authors is that Hanako’s family of four (including him, his brother, and parents) were killed in a murder-suicide, which pretty much became a urban local legend. (Headcanon as of right now? Amane came home to the fact that Tsukasa killed their parents, either because of whatever being inhabits him takes him over or he’s just so used to sacrificing that… it’s normal now? -, Amane accidentally kills Tsukasa with a kitchen knife, and then commits suicide.

There is also the known fact that Amane would come to school with bruises and injuries every day, but refused to say who and why, even to his home room teacher.

Fast forward several decades to the time of the canon… every time Hanako sees Tsukasa, he is either on guard or extremely distressed. (See the latter half of Season 1 Episode 7 for when Tsukasa is introduced). Whether he is afraid of his brother or the fact that Hanako is constantly being confronted with the fact that he killed his brother is up for debate too.

What are they afraid of? Tsukasa. Fearing losing Yashiro (he wants her to stay as much ‘herself’ as possible, even in the Crossing), whether physically or if she would decide she didn’t want to be around him anymore (he is frightened of her finding out ‘the truth’ about him, re: all of the above about Tsukasa).

Do they have any regrets from their life? As Hanako, he does regret being unable to finish his work as the Seventh Wonder and, since Yashiro is also dead in the Crossing, he regrets being unable to keep her alive. Also, for the third time, Tsukasa. His feelings are such a mixed bag, and Hanako is someone that rarely says or shows what he is actually thinking.
