NPC QUESTS
QUESTS are tasks offered by NPCs that characters can work together to complete in order to earn special rewards. The NPCs offering quests will change from setting to setting, and each NPC will typically offer different rewards for completing their quests.
OOCly, quests are lower-impact ways players can interact with the setting and the metaplot between major game events.
To claim a quest, simply comment to the corresponding thread to let us know which characters will be participating. You should have a minimum of two players participating to claim a quest. Depending on the quest, we may have additional info for you to help you get set up, but then you're free to thread! Once the quest is complete, return here with a link to your thread, and we'll give you a rundown of the rewards.
There are no penalties for backing out of a quest after it's been claimed. If you find you aren't able to complete a quest, or simply don't want to anymore, just let us know so that we can open it back up to be claimed by someone else!
Quests refresh after each Crossing (roughly every 3 months)*, so don't be afraid to give them a try! Each character may only be an active participant in one quest at a time.
* Even if not all quests for a given setting are completed, lore details and special items will never be "lost", so don't worry too much about missing out either. Lore always finds a way. 👻
THE MARSH
THE FERRYMAN
no subject
The Ferryman's curiosity continues! They say they want to know more about the places and creatures in the Marsh, but claim they're not able to spend time exploring due to the requirements of their role.
If you have the time, and are perhaps curious yourself, they'd like you to go on a run to bring something back to them: maybe a souvenir from a location, maybe an item from a creature, or maybe just a story.
This quest is recommended for 2-3 characters.
This quest may be completed multiple times. The mods will generate a new request for each set of characters who wish to perform the quest.

Thanks to the hard work of some of your fellow souls, The Ferryman has learned more about the developing situation with The River, and with your memories. However, they remain concerned, and they have decided that perhaps it's time to provide you all with more tools.
There's something you'll have to do first. The Ferryman has asked for interested volunteers to help them — and they promise that this errand won't be quite so stressful as the last one.
This quest was unlocked by the completion of Salt of the River
Because this quest will require NPC interaction, there is a maximum of 2 characters allowed to claim. Only characters who have offered memories to The Ferryman during The Crossing may claim this quest.

It seems there are some competing perspectives, out here in this in-between.
Another note, similar to the one Shepard and Soo Won followed in The Desert, appears innocuously within your shared network of notes and conversation:
And as before, a map to follow, presumably to where The Wraith will be waiting.
This quest was unlocked from the completion of An Eye for an Eye.
Because this quest will require NPC interaction, there is a maximum of 2 characters allowed to claim. Only characters who have lost memories due to injury during The Crossing may claim this quest.

You might have heard by now that the flowers will speak to you, one way or another. But how they speak appears to be slightly different. These orange ones in particular seem to only speak when it suits them.
For a couple of you, it seems, it begins to suit them:
This quest was unlocked from the completion of Flowers in the Desert.
Because this quest will require NPC interaction, there is a maximum of 2 characters allowed to claim.

THE WORLD

By now, you may have seen them, or at least heard about them: familiar silhouettes, darting through the mist. Some who it might make sense to see here with you... and some who it might not.
But what if you were to follow them? So often these ghosts are just blinks in your peripheral vision, gone as quickly as they came — but what if you tried?
This quest is recommended for 2-4 characters.
This quest may be completed multiple times. The mods will generate a new outcome for each set of characters who wish to perform the quest.

(If we need more people for other quests once everyone has signed up, can certainly work on multiple if needed. I keep forgetting that we have less people now ><)

Kel can also be used by multiple quests if needed, I should be a bit more free once the half of the month mark hits!

Surely some of you have noticed by now: there is a stable, if muddy, bank beyond the Firedamp. Anyone brave enough (or, let's say, lacking in a certain sense of self-preservation) may have already attempted to cross, and seen the path that's been cut through the thickness of the vegetation.
You might remember that a path had been left in the Cavern, before. This one doesn't look quite as sophisticated... but maybe there's still something to find?
This quest is recommended for 2-3 characters.
