APPLICATIONS
APPLICATIONS ARE OPEN
PLAYER CAP: 12/35
App Guidelines:
- Applications are not ALWAYS OPEN. If your app coincides with a Crossing event (or any other type of event that may impact how your character enters the game), we may give you some additional information to help guide their transition into the game after acceptance. Please keep an eye on those acceptance notes for any details!
- For information on what kinds of characters can be applied for, please refer to the APPLICATIONS section of our FAQ. If you have any additional questions that aren't answered in the FAQ, please ask them there, so that other applicants can reference them in the future!
- To apply, fill out the application form below and paste it in a comment to this post, with the subject line CHARACTER NAME | CANON NAME | RESERVED/NOT RESERVED. Please DO NOT link apps.
- Comments are screened! Please refer to the APPS RECEIVED list below to see which apps have been submitted (it expands! make sure you click it!).
- Remember that a reserve guarantees you priority in the processing of your app, but does not guarantee acceptance.
- If the mod team requests revisions for your application, you have 72 HOURS to submit those revisions before your application is declined.
- While the mod team will always do our best to explain why an application was not accepted, we reserve the right to decline applications for any reason.
🕱 PLAYER INFO 🕱NAME: ## It's you! ##
OVER 18?: ## All players are required to be over the age of 18. ##
CURRENT PLAYER?: ## If yes, please list which characters(s) you play! ##
PREFERRED CONTACT: ## How should we contact you, if needed? Please list at least one. This can be plurk, discord, PM, etc. ##
🕱 CHARACTER INFO 🕱CHARACTER NAME: ## What name does your character go by? ##
CANON: ## What is your character's source material? If there are multiple versions (book vs movie vs tv show, etc), please specify which you will be using. ##
CANON POINT: ## Remember: your character must be dead! An episode/chapter/etc is sufficient, or you can give us a quick one or two-sentence description. If you are AUing your character into a death point, let us know here. ##
HISTORY: ## For canon characters, a wiki link is sufficient! For OCs, you may also link externally if you have an existing history write-up, otherwise please provide us with a brief summary of their background. For malleable protagonists (or other canon characters with variable backgrounds), please provide a brief summary of the choices/canon state/etc you'll be using. Please try to keep this section under 500 words. Bullet points are great! ##
SUITABILITY: ## In lieu of a standalone personality section, we'd like to hear about what makes you want to bring this character into the game. This should be a balance of character-specific information to give us an idea of how they would interact with the setting, and an overview of your thoughts/ideas/plans for them. How will your character cope with being dead? How will they react to the choices being asked of them (to give up memories or to try and hang on to them)? Tell us why you're interested in bringing this character to The Crossing, what ideas you have for them, and any arcs that interest you. It's alright if you don't have super concrete plans right now — and it's always fine if your plans change as the game proceeds! — we just want to hear what you've got in mind. ##
FIRST TOLL: ## All characters lose one memory upon arrival. What kind of memory is up to player discretion; it can be as simple as the memory of a comforting smell, or as crucial as the memory of a favorite person. Whatever you choose, please also give us a brief description of how this loss will affect your character upon entering the game. ##
SAMPLES: ## Please provide at least 3 sample threads from within the last year. We have no other restrictions for samples, but keep in mind that they will be weighed heavily when evaluating your application. In particular, we want to see writing proficiency, character voice, and player consistency. Put your best foot forward! ##
